Why Emerging Scenarios Exists

Most organisations engage with geopolitical and strategic risk reactively. By the time a development forces a response, the conditions that produced it were often visible well in advance, in the structural shifts, policy changes, and realignments that rarely attract serious attention until their consequences are already being felt. Emerging Scenarios was built to address that gap.

We work with boards, investment committees, government institutions, and senior professionals who need to engage with what is coming, not only what has already happened. Our work spans structured courses and training programmes, closed roundtables, long-form scenario reports, and bespoke advisory engagements. Each is built around the same analytical discipline and designed to support the people responsible for making consequential decisions.

Emerging Scenarios was founded on the conviction that forward-looking, rigorous analysis of the geopolitical and strategic environment is not a peripheral concern for the organisations operating within it. It is a practical necessity, and a capability that can be developed, applied, and sustained over time. Everything we offer is designed around that belief.

Courses

Our courses are live, online programmes that develop the knowledge and analytical skills
required to engage seriously with geopolitical and strategic complexity. Each course focuses on real cases from the regions and dynamics that are actively shaping the global environment. Courses are open to individuals and to organisations enrolling teams.

Exclusive Briefings

Exclusive Briefings are live, closed sessions with leading area specialists and practitioners, convened around a specific development, region, or strategic question that requires expert interpretation. Each session is designed for a senior audience that needs a rigorous, focused assessment of what is happening and what it means, with dedicated time for participants to put their questions directly to the expert.

Roundtables

Our Roundtables bring together a small, vetted group of senior professionals to work through a specific geopolitical or strategic question with expert input structuring the conversation. Each session is built around a single consequential question that is actively contested and not yet resolved by consensus, and participants are selected on the basis that the topic is directly relevant to the decisions they face. All sessions are held under the Chatham House Rule.

Critical Insights

Our Critical Insight reports are long-form documents built on structured scenario analysis that examine the geopolitical and economic dynamics driving the most consequential shifts in the global order. Each report identifies the key structural forces driving a situation, constructs a set of distinct and internally consistent futures, and maps the strategic implications for the organisations that have to respond to them. Reports are published on a rolling basis as topics warrant.

Trainings

Our training programmes are bespoke engagements delivered in-house or as live online cohorts, designed in close consultation with the client and structured around their specific sector, geographies, and strategic priorities. Where courses develop general analytical capability, our training programmes are built around the particular decisions and environments the client organisation is navigating.

Advisory

Our advisory engagements are bespoke, confidential, and built around the client organisation’s actual challenges. We work directly with boards, investment committees, and government ministries on geopolitical and strategic challenges that require more than a standard assessment, tailoring each engagement to the client’s geography, sector, and decision horizon.
